Southern Pines is the center for most of the area’s equestrian activity and the farms here are located in what is known as “horse country.” In fact the US Olympic team has trained here. Horse farms, large and small, routinely sell for $200,000 to well over $1,000,000.

Our mild climate also makes for a perfect winter training area. There is a full range of equine activities for both spectators and participants, including dressage, driving, fox hunting, hunt trials, plus thousands of acres for pleasure riding. Carolina Horse Park is located on what was 250 acres of beautiful farm land, approximately 12 miles south of Southern Pines. The Stoneybrook Steeplchase is held here, as well as a growing list of other events.
